Where Are Hunter Ceiling Fans Made?

Hunter has been in business for a long time and has become the largest ceiling fan brand and company. It managed to build it reputation in terms of power, quality and guarantee that it offers for its items which are available around the globe.

Hunter ceiling fans are also famous for being made in America, but they are no longer made in the USA.

The origin of Hunter Fan Company was in the United States and the company is based in Memphis, Tennessee. Hunter ceiling fans used to be manufactured in the USA, but in 2002, they shifted their production abroad. Nowadays, Hunter fans are being made in China.

The Company Is Based in the US

Hunter came into existence and established its roots in the United States.

The Hunter Fan original company began in 1886 in Syracuse, New York and was transported to Tennessee after the Second World War industrial boom that occurred in the South.

Since 1946, the company has been in Memphis, although its origin was much earlier than that.

Even though they transported the manufacturing division abroad, the headquarters of the company are still in Memphis, Tennessee.

Are Hunter Ceiling Fans Made in the US?

For more than a century, hunter ceiling fans were made in the USA, but eventually, they shifted the manufacturing abroad.

This step was economically sane in order to keep Hunter a competitive brand in the ceiling fan industry. This is not the only company that shifted their production abroad, Minka Aire and Honeywell had done the same.

Hunter Fans Were Originally Made in Tennessee

Before Hunter shifted the production division overseas, the company used to manufacture its ceiling fans and its parts in its factory located in Memphis, Tennessee.

Until 2002, the manufacturing division worked from the Memphis location, when the company made its decision to shift its production abroad.

Hunter Original© ceiling fans which are manufactured in Memphis have become iconic collector’s pieces, and they are still listed on different websites like eBay.

Production of Hunter Ceiling Fans Shifted Overseas

Hunter Fans has a tradition of offering craftsmanship and keeping themselves up to date with the times. They have been consistent in terms of quality and they have been paying attention to it since the company started over 135 years ago.

The fan business needs to adapt to face as well as meet the existing challenges in the market.

To remain reasonable in terms of price and keep the company profitable without compromising its quality, they shifted their production of ceiling fans to facilities available in China.

Is the Quality of the Fans the Same?

Hunter Fans is delivering high-quality items in its industry that have residential as well as commercial lines.

Although they made some changes to their iconic Hunter Original ceiling fans in terms of design and material used, they still offer a limited lifetime warranty on the motor. This shows the confidence of the company in its quality and the reliability of the items.

This decision to shift the production of the company overseas in order to lower the manufacturing costs has enabled Hunter fans to become a strong opponent in the market.

What Is Unique?

They have made some modern changes to their Hunter Original© ceiling fan design which is why it does not use a cast iron motor anymore like older models. However, the cast iron still makes the exterior housing of the fan.

Another point to mention is that the new motors are made to fit perfectly into the original fan models, so changing a worn-out fan motor will not mean that you will have to remove your original Hunter fan.
